GREAT COMMUNITY SPIRIT The event is organised for the whole community to have fun and to raise funds for those among us who deserve support and help.

It has become the principal community event in the area and one of the largest charity events in the region. The fact that £283,000 had been raised over the 22 years is a testimony to the magnificent community spirit, shown by many who contribute in different ways - the entrants and their sponsors; Cambridge Building Society; other sponsors and advertisers; local businesses; retailers; local organisations and Sawston Village College.

Organised originally by Sawston Village College the Fun Run has since 2001 been organised by the Sawston and District Rotary Club, one of 32,500 clubs in 168 countries throughout the world with a combined membership of over 1.2 million members. By organising the 2008 event the club continues it's support and involvement with the community.

Supporting the event makes a real difference…to the lives of many in our local community. Whether you are a walker, runner, sponsor, donor or a helper on the day your involvement helps local charities and organisations to enhance the lives of those they serve - details are on the Charities page.

The 2008 event will be held on Sunday April 27th. The organisers are hoping to raise at least £15,000 to add to the £283,000 that has already been raised for local charities since 1986.
